With a focus on Teesside and surrounding areas, the firm has strengthened its position in the regional market, and is preparing for a period of growth that has seen it strengthen the support services at the firm. An increase in instruction and growth throughout the pandemic has led to 6 appointments in the central support team over the past 4 months.
This began with the appointment of Sara Hall as Practice Manager, in December 2020, with responsibility for the overall management of the practice. Richard Garland joined the firm in January as Finance Manager to aid with managing the firm’s revenue and reporting. Lauren Martin joined the fast growing Litigation team in January as Legal secretary.
Three additional roles were filled in March with Melanie Brundall and Jessica Wadsworth joining as Accounts Assistant and Legal Secretary (Commercial Property) respectively and Catherine Prosser also joining the firm in a new role as Risk and Compliance Manager.
Sara Hall, Practice Manager, said ‘It’s been a strange time starting a new role during the pandemic, however the team at Archers have been extremely welcoming and helped ease into the role working both in the office and from home. It’s an exciting time at Archers Law with the team growing and we are delighted to be in a position to be recruiting new team members in support roles to help grow our offering to clients, during the pandemic.’
Richard Garland, Finance Manager, said ‘I was fortunate to have been able to do a lot of my initial inductions from a COVID secure office to learn the systems and procedures, now I am working remotely and the support from the firm has been great. The team are friendly and I have felt comfortable and safe attending the office.’
Melanie and Jessica both started their employment on the same day, albeit they have had very different experiences so far. Melanie is working from the office to gain an understanding of the systems and Jessica, who is relocating to the area soon, is working entirely remotely and hasn’t been into the office yet. Lauren joined in January 2021 and hit the ground running in a busy Litigation team, who have surpassed all targets with their work this year.
Christopher Todd, Managing Partner said: ‘we know it’s been a tough time for many of our clients and contacts and by strengthening our support team, we are implementing the structure for growth to be able to provide clients with the best possible legal advice and service. We are in the fortunate position to be able to continue growing during the pandemic, however we appreciate that is not the case for everyone.’
