Meet the team: Natalie Wilson.

Q: What is your role at Archers Law?

A: I am a paralegal in the Commercial Disputes Team

Q: How long have you been at the firm and a little about your career journey so far.

A: I have been a paralegal for 4 years. I have been with the firm since April 2019 but prior to that I was working at another local firm where I started as a secretary before being promoted to a paralegal. Prior to this, I worked in a barristers chambers.

I studied locally at Teesside University completing my law degree. My ultimate aim is to qualify which is my goal in the next few years.

Q: What did you want to be when you were younger?

A: I often changed my mind but my job roles usually revolved around animals. A Vet or a Marine Biologist were the main ones I remember.

Q: What made you want to pursue a career in law?

A: I have a family member that works in the legal sector which had a heavy influence in choosing law as a career but being fresh out of college, like most, I had no idea what I wanted to do. Law is a subject which opens many doors to different career paths so it seemed a good option to pursue.

Q: Have you always lived in Teesside and what is your favourite thing about the Tees Valley?

A: I have always lived in Teesside and my favourite thing has got to be the central hub that it is. You are not too far from anything! And of course, the infamous Parmo!

Q: What do you enjoy doing in your spare time?

A: I enjoy pole fitness and aerial arts. It is my main form of exercise. Being a trained instructor you can usually find me attending or teaching classes 4 times a week. Other than that, like most I love to try new restaurants and meeting up with friends.

Q: One fact/ thing people may not know about you!

A: I am a black belt in karate

Q: Are there any funny laws you have come across?

A: Section 32 of the Salmon Act 1986 stipulates that it is an offence to handle salmon under suspicious circumstances
